Symbiotic Drift

An international artist-led curatorial project on dark ecology
Symbiotic Drift presents over thirty international artists from Europe, Asia, and the Americas whose works explore how ecological, technological, and cultural forces shape material experience. The exhibition moves across painting, video, installation, sculpture, and immersive AI environments, tracing the shifting relations between bodies, tools, and environments.
Inspired by Timothy Morton’s ideas of the mesh and dark ecology, the project approaches artistic practice as part of a shared field of entanglement that resists clear boundaries – between living and constructed forms, between what endures and what disappears.
Set within a speculative horizon looking toward the year 2525, the exhibition considers the present as already marked by transformation and saturation, where fragile continuities of culture persist amid environmental and technological change. These conditions appear as hyperobjects – forces that organize life while remaining beyond full perception.
Unfolding over three months on Instagram and a dedicated website, Symbiotic Drift invites viewers to inhabit the network as a living space of exchange. The works address vulnerability, adaptation, and the ways materials remember contact. Together they form a study of coexistence that understands fragility not as weakness, but as a way of knowing.

Dasha Gauser is an artist working across sculpture and installation. Her practice examines the ways material form can become a site of protection, memory, and transformation. Through objects such as helmets, capsules, and anthropomorphic structures, she creates metaphoric shelters that engage with vulnerability and resilience, offering spaces where identity and intimacy are renegotiated.
Gauser’s works often emerge from dramatized, stylized forms that heighten affective presence. Rather than ornamental surfaces, they function as protective architectures – shells that hold both personal and collective experience. Her current projects investigate hybridity, permeability, and the search for refuge, situating sculpture as a structure for care.
